I'm afraid my Tigblog has been one of my more neglected blogs. I've been toying with the idea of starting another blog to write about information systems, online communities, internet culture etc. but didn't have the impetus until now.

Instead of keeping this blog strictly to a bare bones list of more traditional media, I'm going to nix its former staid structure and take it in a new direction, hence the renaming of it. Instead of the neutrality of my former posts, I am definitely going to make an effort to analyze and contexualize what I post about and I'm not going to hide my ideological biases anymore. I'll wear my theorists on my sleeve, so yes, the title is a reference to Foucault who is one of my fave thinkers.

In regards to my background in information studies, I've:
- worked in graphic design for a 3D online program (start up)
- volunteered and worked as a consultant for TIG
- researched issues of access to information in Canada, the US and Hong Kong
- was a panelist this summer at the mesh conference with a bunch of other wonderful TIG staff members!
- worked in library settings
- etc. I'm sure you don't want to read my resume here.

p.s. For those who are curious, I've have been writing on a number of blogs since 2000 on various topics (web design, western occultism, cinema etc.). The first "blogs" I participated in were more like posts you updated with a group of other people because there were no comments, no rss, no trackbacks lol. Despite my interest in social networking, I have never blogged about my personal life.
